Not as good (by a little bit), but still one of the best in the genre.. I actually forgot this game existed until recently. Black Mirror II ends pretty definitively (or so it seems). That said, I'm glad i rediscovered it and decided to play, as the Black Mirror series are some of my favorite point and clicks and III adds a lot to the series.For one thing, there is a marked difference, in my opinion, in how coherent the storyline is. The first game was interesting, but sort of all over the place - if there's one thing that forcing a more linear rigidity does give to a game, it's the gift of coherence. With II becoming more linear, it was slightly more understandable what you were doing at any given time and why, and this one seems to have really maxed that trait out.This is a very interesting and dark point and click horror game that fans of the genre will really enjoy, whether or not they have played the first two (it does a good job of introducing characters and events previously used in the series without being too hamfisted.) The locations are fun to explore and the plot has lots of depth. If you're into history, family dramas, insanity studies, or atmospheric creepers you'll have a good romp with this one. It's also a long game, with many things to poke around in, so you're likely to be entertained for a while. Not as good as the 2nd, but still good.(played in offline mode). Little dated but this game is pretty fun for a cheapy.. I really enjoyed this end to the series. It brought back the horror aspect well, it drew on the first game and second, tied up some loose ends (and... caused a few more. Looking at you Ralph). The puzzles and story elements were fun, although I accidentally skipped some and had no idea what I was meant to be doing on others The photo filter one wasn't a puzzle so much as time consuming, the word underlining puzzle was broken and had to be skipped and the skeleton puzzle had to be very exactThe ending was a little abrupt, but overall, this is a great game to finish the series (And you do need to play the rest of the series to understand what's going on- or at least the second one).. Oh dear. terrible, wooden voice acting. Awful, changing accents. Is it Irish? Scottish? Australian? Amercan? They keep changing!!!Terrible graphics for 2011. I couldn't wait to exit, but had to go through an extremely lengthy intro that I couldn't escape out of. Fortunately I paid under £2 for it. Plenty of people seem to like it, so if it's your thing, crack on. 10/10 should've saved my £2 for a mars bar. I am a big fan of point and click adventure games, so beware of that predisposed bias. Black Mirror's strongest attribute is the story. Every time I have beaten one of the games I want more, it draws me in with the mystery and I love all the story details included as the plot develops. Although, the graphics are not particularly impressive, nor is the way the characters interact with objects and each other, what the game lacks it makes up for in a tantalizing plot. I am also always pleasantly surprised by how long the stories are, each one taking me between 15 and 23 hours (for anyone who does not typically play point and click games that is well above the average). The puzzles range anywhere between giving you a headache and downright juvenile, but I enjoy them either way. If you are a fan of the genre I would highly recommend, however, as this is the third game in the series do yourself a favor and start at the beginning. Also, buyer beware the first game is much more clunky.. Amazing game! I would definately recommend it, although you should have played I & II to have an understanding of what is going on.
